Job Description
1. Teaching Responsibilities: Deliver engaging lessons in GCSE Business Studies (KS4) and A-Level Business and/or Economics (KS5). Plan, prepare, and assess lessons according to the curriculum (e.g. Edexcel, AQA, OCR). Use varied teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Incorporate real-world examples to enhance students' understanding of business and economic concepts. 2. Curriculum Development: Develop and update schemes of work. Integrate current events, case studies, and topical business/economic issues into lessons. Prepare students for external exams, including setting and marking mock papers. 3. Assessment & Reporting: Track and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessment. Provide feedback and set targets for improvement. Write reports and attend parent evenings to discuss student performance. 4. Pastoral and Mentoring Duties: Act as a form tutor (if required), supporting the social and emotional well-being of students. Provide career guidance related to business, finance, economics, and entrepreneurship. 5. Wider School Contribution: Organise enrichment opportunities such as enterprise challenges, Young Enterprise, or business trips. Contribute to whole-school initiatives such as financial literacy, work experience, and employability skills. 6. Professional Development: Stay current with changes in exam specifications and developments in business and economic education. Attend relevant CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions
